Choosing Esperance accommodation to suit your active holiday

With seemingly endless hiking trails, bike paths and stretches of coastline, Esperance is the ideal destination for those looking for an active escape. To help you get your heart rate up while you’re on holiday, here are a few of our favourite active experiences in Esperance.

Biking, running and walking along the Esperance Foreshore

The Esperance Foreshore is a magnet to early risers. From the moment the sun cracks over the horizon, cyclists, runners and walkers are drawn to the Esperance Foreshore, attracted to its long stretch of footpath, numerous coffee spots, and pristine views of the Esperance Bay. Wake up with the birds at Esperance accommodation provider, Esperance Chalet Village, and then lace up your running shoes and pound the pavement along the coastline towards town. Or, if you want to take it a little easier, jump on a complimentary cruiser bike and pedal your way along the Esperance Foreshore. Stop for a coffee at either Bean Break or Coffee Cat – both coffee vans located on the Esperance Foreshore – and take in the views as you sip your morning espresso. If coffee’s not your thing, S’Juice has you covered. The bright green van located at the Esperance Jetty serves up fresh fruit and vegetable juices, made to your liking.

Taking a Pilates class

When choosing Esperance accommodation for your active escape, look no further than Esperance Chalet Village. At Esperance Chalet Village, you don’t have to worry about missing out on your weekly Pilates sesh – the Esperance accommodation offers onsite Pilates in its bespoke Creek House. Body Pulse Pilates instructor, Lisa Nicolaisen, takes Pilates classes several times a week in the space, which is perched on a small hill overlooking Bandy Creek. Lisa’s classes are a fresh blend of contemporary and classical mat Pilates, designed to strengthen your whole body. With an emphasis on core strength, her classes will improve your posture, flexibility and stability. Booking essential via the Body Pulse Pilates website, www.bodypulsepilates.com.

Kayaking along Bandy Creek

Esperance Chalet Village is the only Esperance accommodation that provides complimentary kayaks and direct access to Bandy Creek. Help yourself to a single or double kayak and then go exploring! You have two choices – paddle towards Bandy Creek Boat Harbour or head up past the Esperance Bay Turf Club. Marvel at the native flora and fauna as you work up a sweat, then cool off with a refreshing dip in the creek’s pristine water.

Exploring Cape Le Grand National Park

There is so much more to Cape Le Grand National Park than just a few kangaroos lazing about at Lucky Bay. Even if the weather is less than desirable, this is a great place to visit and get your heart rate pumping. There are 20 kilometres of coastal walk trails through the national park, varying in difficultly from an easy stroll to a hard hike. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous (and you’re both experienced and prepared enough), walk the whole way from Rossiter Beach to Le Grand Beach. You’ll need a post-hike soak in the bathtub at your Esperance accommodation if you take this option! If you’re after great views with your workout, climb Frenchman Peak and reap the rewards at the top.
